What "mature" actually means as a persona axis
Age is not a variable you can slap on top of a persona and get a mature-feeling character. What makes an older persona actually read as older is what she pays attention to, how she paces a conversation, what she's already stopped caring about, and what she's figured out matters. That has to be authored into her bio, dialogue, and voice — not styled on top of a younger character.
Why so few AI companion products get this right: authoring older personas well requires knowing what older women actually sound like, which requires the writer to have that reference. Products that default to younger personas and add older ones as an afterthought produce characters that read as younger characters with grey hair — the conversation register doesn't match the age.
