Where the architecture creates friction
One structural limitation is worth understanding clearly, because it doesn't show up in the first 15 minutes of use.
Candy AI's photo generation is prompt-based — each photo of a character is generated fresh from a text prompt describing that character. The underlying model interprets the prompt each time, and the resulting image is the model's best interpretation of "a character matching this description" in that moment.
What this means practically: the character's face drifts between successive photos of the same character. Not dramatically — you'll still recognize the character across images — but noticeably enough that if you're building a library of many photos of the same character over weeks, side-by-side comparisons reveal the face isn't quite the same person in generation 20 as it was in generation 1.
This is inherent to the architecture, not a UI bug. Any platform that generates each character photo fresh from a prompt has some version of this drift. The alternative architecture — per-persona LoRA weights that lock a character's face across every generation — requires training a dedicated model weight per character, which is a substantial infrastructure and per-persona cost that most competitors don't take on.
